RockGammon has no ads, analytics or tracking, and no accounts of its own.
Games against the computer
These stay on your device.
Games in Messages
Each move travels as an iMessage in your conversation, like any other message. RockGammon has no server and never sees it.
Online games
Online games are stored with Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) in RockGammon's shared database. For each game it keeps:
- The name you choose to show your opponent (just a first name).
- An anonymous ID that Apple gives RockGammon for your iCloud account. It isn't your Apple ID or email, and other apps can't match it to you.
- The game's moves.
Anyone with a game's invite link can read that game, which in practice is your opponent. RockGammon deletes a game from the shared database about a week after it ends.
Your list of games and their results is kept in your own private iCloud database, which only you can read. You can delete games from the list in the app, or all of it from Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage.
Notifications
If you allow them, iCloud tells your device when it's your move. The notification shows your opponent's name and move.
This website
No cookies or analytics. Cloudflare, which hosts it, keeps standard request logs.
